March

March

Interrupting my normal book recs for kids with a bit of a serious one. I implore you if you have a tween or teen in your life, buy them these three graphic novels. They are the history of the Civil Rights Movement as told by John Lewis in a trilogy called March. At a time when a whole lot of misinformation, insulting memes and click bait stories are taking over, make sure the truth about this hero is known. (Side note: I was raised by people who participated in the Civil Rights Movement. What you cannot say about them is that they were all talk. All courage, all bravery, all breathtaking fearlessness, yes, but all talk, no.)
